Guidelines
Welcome to Smash Ronpa's test drive! In lieu of a Mock Trial, due to this round's length, we'll be keeping this test drive open until the opening of the game on September 28th. Reserves will be happening on September 18th, and you can use 20 comments (from your character) on the game's application! Otherwise, this TDM is here to help you figure out how/who you might want to play, and can help you get to know some of the players in the upcoming round. Don't feel like you have to apply just because you play on the TDM!

This post is, however, exclusively open to characters who fit the round's character guidelines. In other words - Nintendo characters and other video game characters who have appeared on a Nintendo consoles. Please check out our FAQ for more detail on this, or hit up

1) ARRIVAL
You wake up comfortably enough in a nice-looking, despite the overabundance of pink everywhere. It's well-furnished and decently roomy - there's even a little fireplace in there! The only problem is that even despite the sense of familiarity some might feel, this clearly wasn't the room you went to sleep in the night before.

Welcome the Monobear Training Camp! It may take a few minutes to gather your bearings, but you'll eventually stumble into the wide open world of the camp. If you look hard enough, you might find an odd electronic device somewhere on your person - giving you access to 15 different "student profiles". It's time to figure out just where you've ended up, now isn't it?

2) LIFE IS QUITE ABSURD
By now, you're acquainted with everybody here and you're sloooowlllyyyy growing bored. Bored enough to kill? No. Bored enough to actually try and entertain yourselves in this place? Yes. Yes, you are. Thankfully, this place has plenty of ways to entertain! You might just try to cook something up in the kitchen, play around in the well-stocked arcade, and even a neat little library! There's even a large movie theater, but your enjoyment of that might be hampered by the fact that there's only one movie playing on repeat. At all times. Remember, we're trying to cause despair here.

What some might find creepy, however, is that all the rooms are far bigger than they should be. The layout of this place is...it doesn't make any sense. There are windows and pathways where there shouldn't be, and it seems as though the rooms are almost overlapping each other. Don't think about it for too long.

3) WHAT'S MY MOTIVATION
IT'S MOTIVE DAY! What's going to drive you to kill? Drive you to end of the chain? CONGRATULATIONS, IT'S HAPPENING TODAY. Either nab a motive from any of the previous rounds or invent your own!

4) AND DEATH'S THE FINAL WORD
It was bound to happen eventually. Either you're dying, or someone close to you is about to make it up the great big Warp Pipe in the sky. Either try to get a few last words out before you go, or go off and investigate in the wake of their death.

5) WILDCARD
Who even knows- do whatever you want, man! Unless it's pissing off the headmaster. Don't do that.

1. What On Weyard...?

[She wakes slowly and processes this strange sight even more slowly. This is nothing like she's ever seen before-- nothing like she's ever imagined before. And... so much pink, it's more then a touch overwhelming. But as she looks around it doesn't take long for her to hoist herself out of bed and begin looking for other people. Her student handbook lies abandoned, and she doesn't bother with any of the mind-boggling technology yet. Right now Mia is focused on what she does understand, and that's people. If she can find someone to talk to, perhaps she can begin to make sense of this madness.

So, when she spots your character prepared to be waved over in a purposeful way. And no, she is not taking no for an answer. So if you're trying to avoid her, prepare to be politely followed :)]

Excuse me, could I have a word with you?

2. It's No Mercury Fountain, But It Will Do

[Oh I'm sorry, did you want to use the spices and herbs in the kitchen for actual cooking? Well that might be difficult at the moment. It seems that Mia has grabbed all of them, and is taking her time sniffing them, tasting them, then sorting them into different seemingly random categories. It seems like she's half way done? Although it's hard to tell since she hasn't written down any labels.]

Hmm, this spice.. [she pauses in the middle of her work. She's tasted a dab of turmeric and is now tapping her chin and looking at the ceiling as if she's trying to recall something] It tastes quite a bit like the one we received from Indra.

[she says it mostly for her own benefit as she moves it into the right-most pile before she continues with her work. If you leave her to her business she will continue to sniff taste and sort for quite a while. Interrupt her? Stare very directly at her to make her stop? Ask what the hell she's doing? The choice is yours..]

3. Whoops There It Is...

[She frowns decidedly at her own motivation before she sighs heavily and folds it back into the envelope. Cruel... pointless and cruel. Every time she thought that this bear could not stoop any lower he somehow managed to out do himself. As she slides the envelope into her pocket her eyes cast downward for a moment. What if it was true? The thought always tickled the back of her mind. Did this creature truly have the power to revive the Mercury Clan?

No, such thoughts were pointless. As she pushes them away she strides over to other characters, anyone who looks lost, confused, or saddened. As she approaches she'll clear her throat and smile gently]

It never gets any easier, does it? [An invitation to talk, in its most basic form. She has no interest in dwelling on her own worries, not when there's a chance that she could be helping others instead]

D. Wildcard!!!

[/aggressively wiggles eyebrows... I'm down for anything!]

[Dark Pit hadn't looked... sad exactly, or worried. But there was certainly SOMETHING playing out on his face. A deep set concentration and annoyance. His feathers are more honest though: fluffing defensively. As he's approached he jams the letter into his sash]

He's getting desperate.

[ 'He' being Monobear- Pittoo refusing to use it's name since day 1]

[If this were any other time, she would find the feather fluffing pretty adorable. But now is certainly not that time and smiling is the furthest thing from her mind. So instead she makes an effort to respect his privacy and doesn't even glance at the envelope that he stows away, and instead focuses on his face.]

As he should be. The longer that we remain here, the clearer it should become to him that we who remain will not turn for the false promises that he offers.

[Such words ring slightly hollow in her ears... Each week it's seemed that no one would dare commit such an atrocity as murder and yet... But each week is a new start, and one can hope that this week is the one that will be different. But still, she doesn't wait for an opening in the conversation for him to point this out, and instead asks--]

How are you feeling? [It sounds better to her ear than "Are you alright"]

You say that, but the longer we're here the more we're gonna crack.

[He shrugs... but doesn't seem to have his heart into his bitter remark. He's just so damned tired of all this.]

I'm fi... I've been better.

[Mia has never been afraid of seeming forward. She's a healer, interacting with people closely is her job. So she reaches out with no hesitation and rests a hand on his shoulder. She musters a small smile.]

We're all trapped in this together. Sharing our feelings and relying on one another will only make us stronger, not weaker. [you tough boys and your need to seem strong]

I'm not hiding anything...

[He grumbles, but doesn't pull away from her touch]

You know, someone's gonna use that buddy-buddy attitude against you eventually.

...

They... sure do have a lot of those all in one place, huh...?

[...IS THAT WHY SHE'S DOING THIS?? CYNTHIA'S SO CONFUSED, SHE JUST WANTED TO COME IN AND GET SOME ICE CREAM]
