Guidelines
Welcome to Smash Ronpa's test drive! In lieu of a Mock Trial, due to this round's length, we'll be keeping this test drive open until the opening of the game on September 28th. Reserves will be happening on September 18th, and you can use 20 comments (from your character) on the game's application! Otherwise, this TDM is here to help you figure out how/who you might want to play, and can help you get to know some of the players in the upcoming round. Don't feel like you have to apply just because you play on the TDM!

This post is, however, exclusively open to characters who fit the round's character guidelines. In other words - Nintendo characters and other video game characters who have appeared on a Nintendo consoles. Please check out our FAQ for more detail on this, or hit up smashronpa if you have any questions about character choices or anything else!

1) ARRIVAL
You wake up comfortably enough in a nice-looking, despite the overabundance of pink everywhere. It's well-furnished and decently roomy - there's even a little fireplace in there! The only problem is that even despite the sense of familiarity some might feel, this clearly wasn't the room you went to sleep in the night before.

Welcome the Monobear Training Camp! It may take a few minutes to gather your bearings, but you'll eventually stumble into the wide open world of the camp. If you look hard enough, you might find an odd electronic device somewhere on your person - giving you access to 15 different "student profiles". It's time to figure out just where you've ended up, now isn't it?

2) LIFE IS QUITE ABSURD
By now, you're acquainted with everybody here and you're sloooowlllyyyy growing bored. Bored enough to kill? No. Bored enough to actually try and entertain yourselves in this place? Yes. Yes, you are. Thankfully, this place has plenty of ways to entertain! You might just try to cook something up in the kitchen, play around in the well-stocked arcade, and even a neat little library! There's even a large movie theater, but your enjoyment of that might be hampered by the fact that there's only one movie playing on repeat. At all times. Remember, we're trying to cause despair here.

What some might find creepy, however, is that all the rooms are far bigger than they should be. The layout of this place is...it doesn't make any sense. There are windows and pathways where there shouldn't be, and it seems as though the rooms are almost overlapping each other. Don't think about it for too long.

3) WHAT'S MY MOTIVATION
IT'S MOTIVE DAY! What's going to drive you to kill? Drive you to end of the chain? CONGRATULATIONS, IT'S HAPPENING TODAY. Either nab a motive from any of the previous rounds or invent your own!

4) AND DEATH'S THE FINAL WORD
It was bound to happen eventually. Either you're dying, or someone close to you is about to make it up the great big Warp Pipe in the sky. Either try to get a few last words out before you go, or go off and investigate in the wake of their death.

5) WILDCARD
Who even knows- do whatever you want, man! Unless it's pissing off the headmaster. Don't do that.

Luigi | Super Mario Bros

A [Well... this is confusing.

The last place he expected to be woken up was the Princess's bedroom. Not enough to worry him but enough to make Luigi wonder if he somehow passed out recently in Princess Peach's castle and the Toads put him in this room

That seemed believable enough, but when he opened the bedroom door to see that it led to a place that was distinctly not Princess Peach's castle, the confusion grew to bafflement.]

Wh-wha..?

[And so now Luigi is wandering through the area, wondering what the heck happened. There is a very good chance he might run into several students if someone doesn't stop him.]

B [Luigi hadn't went to the theater yet. He was mostly caught up in the panic of this whole situation to worry about entertainment.

But now that it's been a few days he's starting to realize that he can't just freak out the entire time he's here. Mario wouldn't do that after all.

Still maybe he should do something that will help calm his nerves a little before doing anything productive.

He happened to go into the theater as soon as the title "Super Mario Bros" appeared and it immediately grabbed Luigi's interest. Hey, he had never heard of someone making a movie about their lives, this could be kind of fun!

But as soon as the movie got to the dinosaurs bit, Luigi became unsure that this movie was actually about his life, but honestly? His burning curiosity is currently overtaking any confusion that's going on through watching.

Maybe the "Super Mario Bros." title was just a coincidence?]

C [It was Motive Day, and honestly Luigi still had a hard time believing. Even with all the evil that's here, it seems like they would focus more on trying to escape rather than kill everyone here.

However as he looked at the piece of paper given to him, tears started welling up in his eyes. This... this had to be fake, right? There is no way something like this could happen!]

[He could almost sympathize with the idea of being the weaker brother clone. If only he wasn't so much better then Pit in every way.

Which might be why he finds Luigi so annoying at the best of times- But even Dark Pit can't ignore the guy starting to cry]

[He starts trying to say something, but his voice keeps getting caught in his throat.

Instead, he just show Dark Pit the picture of the inside of a small cottage. It looks completely trashed but with how dark it is it's hard to make out details.

More worryingly though, if you look at the photo hard enough, you'll find that there is a slightly alarming amount of blood on the floor.]

Huh, cute house.

[He shrugs]

You do realize how easy that'd be to fake, right?

[He has a picture of his own, half tucked in the folds of his clothing]

[Luigi nods and tries to swallow the lump in his throat.]

Y-yeah, I'm-a sure my big bro's alright.

[His voice doesn't sound super convinced though, unfortunately.]

[Dark Pit kinda has an unfair advantage of knowing at least ONE of the people in his own picture is alive. He wouldn't be standing here otherwise.

Not that he CARES mind you. Of course not. But it's good to know the bear is full of it.

....right?]

You're not gonna last long if you start believing the bear that easily. Either you think your brother is tough enough to be fine or not.

[Someone has already been in the theater for a couple minutes. Leon has been dealing with this whole school of mutual killing in his own creepy bleak survivalist way.

So why not see a movie? Of course, even he couldn't stand the voice of that Luigi character or that one Mario's constant yelling.]

Come on! Kill 'em! At least the gross skinny one!

[Well he's sure this lizard guy doesn't mean him specifically. After all he doesn't even act anything like that guy on screen who claims to be "Luigi".

But still, this guy kind of unnerved Luigi a bit.]

Um...

I-I don't think it's-a that kind of movie.

[falcoff]

[No not at all. In fact he wasn't even aware till this Luigi spoke up.

His one eye swiveled back to look at Luigi.]

What kind of movie is it then if you're a movie expert?

[Luigi feels himself sinking into his chair.]

I, uh, think this movie might-a be about my life? It's not very accurate though...

[falcoff]

...is that supposed to be you?

[Looks at Luiguzamo.]

They got the annoying voice right.

[Luigi's not the only one wandering around and wondering what the heck happened, that's for sure. And it only takes two bewildered students who aren't paying attention to any obstacles in front of them to collide with each other.

Needless to say, Alph was one of those bewildered students.

And so, while he was previously exploring the camp and trying to get his bearings, he now finds himself exploring the ground as he collides with something big and goes sprawling.]

H-huh? What could that have been...?

[Oh, he's muttering to himself. Not a good sign.

He's actually okay though, a bit dazed but okay. He quickly discovers that what he ran into is a person though, and he's not sure if that person is okay! He scrambles to his feet to investigate.]

I'm so sorry, sir! Are you all right?

[green_mario]

[Once Luigi gains his bearings, he immediately starts apologizing himself.]

O-oh, I'm-a fine, sorry.

[Actually, now that he knows that he's not alone...]

Hey, do you know who-a Bowser is?

[... Okay, a stupid question since everyone knows who he is, but maybe he knows if Bowser is behind this?]

[Alph can help but study Luigi with great curiosity once he gets a good look at him. He's so tall...is he by chance just a really tall Hocotatian?

He's taken out of those thoughts though, and finds himself completely stumped by Luigi's question.]

Bowser? [He shakes his head.] I'm afraid not. Are they one of the "students" that was brought here?

<small.[Luckily Luigi doesn't really mind the staring from Alph, since Luigi is currently too focused on the situation at hand to worry about what other people might think of him.

Still, that comment worries him since he only has one conclusion from it.]</small>

[Luigi's concern doesn't go unnoticed! Alph watches warily, now wondering who this Bowser person is.]

Is he some sort of wanted criminal? Is he known for kidnapping others?

[Kidnapping others from other worlds even, apparently. He's never heard of this Mushroom Kingdom Luigi was muttering about.]

[...and there's some girl in armor running full tilt through the hallways as well! CLEARLY, THIS CAN ONLY END IN ---]

Oof!

[...COLLISION........]

[And Luigi flies back a few good feet. After sitting in a daze for a few moments, he realizes that he ran into someone. In a slight panic, Luigi rushes to his feet and goes to help the other person up.]

S-sorry! Are you alright?

[...she gets up pretty quickly at the very least... before he gets over there, even]

Nah, it's fine! I can handle a few tumbles and high speed collisions! It's no problem at all!

[green_mario]

[Oh... well at least she seems alright.]

Y-you sure? I don't want you to be hurt.

[Because Luigi would probably feel so guilty if he accidentally hurt someone so quickly.]

Really, I'm fine! ...actually, are you okay? I can't tell if you're the sort of person who has immunity to this sort of thing or not...

A!

[Well, it's not entirely certain if she runs into him, or he runs into her, but in either case, there is indeed a collision. Or, rather, a solid wall of muscle meeting him, followed by the tall young woman stepping back quickly. She's only a little taller than him, actually, but the way she immediately starts apologizing, she would probably like to seem smaller.]

O-oh my gosh, Ah-Ah'm so sorry, sir! A-Ah shoulda been watchin' where Ah was goin'!

[Luigi is knocked back to the point of clumsily falling over. After groaning a little, he quickly gets back up once he realizes someone's apologizing to him.]

N-no it's fine. I wasn't looking where I was-a going either.

... Do you know where we're are, by the way?

[shslancer]

[Still mentally flailing a little, the woman quickly shakes her head.]

N-no, sorry. Somethin' 'bout a camp an' school or s-somethin'? A-Ah jus' got here, myself...

Me too, I don't know what's-a going on here. I just woke up here with this thing [Takes out the Electronic Student Handbook.] and I don't know how it-

[He flips it open and pauses.]

... It has my name in here.
