Guidelines
Welcome to Smash Ronpa's test drive! In lieu of a Mock Trial, due to this round's length, we'll be keeping this test drive open until the opening of the game on September 28th. Reserves will be happening on September 18th, and you can use 20 comments (from your character) on the game's application! Otherwise, this TDM is here to help you figure out how/who you might want to play, and can help you get to know some of the players in the upcoming round. Don't feel like you have to apply just because you play on the TDM!

This post is, however, exclusively open to characters who fit the round's character guidelines. In other words - Nintendo characters and other video game characters who have appeared on a Nintendo consoles. Please check out our FAQ for more detail on this, or hit up smashronpa if you have any questions about character choices or anything else!

1) ARRIVAL
You wake up comfortably enough in a nice-looking, despite the overabundance of pink everywhere. It's well-furnished and decently roomy - there's even a little fireplace in there! The only problem is that even despite the sense of familiarity some might feel, this clearly wasn't the room you went to sleep in the night before.

Welcome the Monobear Training Camp! It may take a few minutes to gather your bearings, but you'll eventually stumble into the wide open world of the camp. If you look hard enough, you might find an odd electronic device somewhere on your person - giving you access to 15 different "student profiles". It's time to figure out just where you've ended up, now isn't it?

2) LIFE IS QUITE ABSURD
By now, you're acquainted with everybody here and you're sloooowlllyyyy growing bored. Bored enough to kill? No. Bored enough to actually try and entertain yourselves in this place? Yes. Yes, you are. Thankfully, this place has plenty of ways to entertain! You might just try to cook something up in the kitchen, play around in the well-stocked arcade, and even a neat little library! There's even a large movie theater, but your enjoyment of that might be hampered by the fact that there's only one movie playing on repeat. At all times. Remember, we're trying to cause despair here.

What some might find creepy, however, is that all the rooms are far bigger than they should be. The layout of this place is...it doesn't make any sense. There are windows and pathways where there shouldn't be, and it seems as though the rooms are almost overlapping each other. Don't think about it for too long.

3) WHAT'S MY MOTIVATION
IT'S MOTIVE DAY! What's going to drive you to kill? Drive you to end of the chain? CONGRATULATIONS, IT'S HAPPENING TODAY. Either nab a motive from any of the previous rounds or invent your own!

4) AND DEATH'S THE FINAL WORD
It was bound to happen eventually. Either you're dying, or someone close to you is about to make it up the great big Warp Pipe in the sky. Either try to get a few last words out before you go, or go off and investigate in the wake of their death.

5) WILDCARD
Who even knows- do whatever you want, man! Unless it's pissing off the headmaster. Don't do that.

[You may find yourself living in a shogun shack. And you may find yourself a lizard in a pink frilly bed. Of course the pink part doesn't bother him.

It's the finding himself in a bed he doesn't remember part that doesn't bother him. Someone kidnapping HIM? A master assassin? That's just unheard of!

Leon slips from his luxurious bed, not bothering to notice how well-rested he feels. He pats himself for knives, pistols, guns, blunt objects on his person. But nothing.

No one kidnaps and steals from the great Leon! He doesn't let setbacks get to him. No, instead his immediate reaction is to break off a piece of his bedpost as a crude blunt weapon and wander into the greater part of his prison.]

Alright you scum...come out...

[Leon had gotten into a sort of "routine" aka a form of mental training: in the mornings he would skulk around looking for an escape. After that he would choose to follow someone for an hour or two. He couldn't not trust people enough.

When that ended? He was left to his own devices. Some days he would use makeshift projectiles to shoot cans, but today was one of those days he would be hanging by the library.

Sure he would read a book for a bit. But once that got boring he chose in true lizard fashion to climb the bookcase.

And he would wait there, quietly, expecting anyone to pop in at any moment.]

[Motive Day was here again and no one seemed safe. In his hand he had a piece of paper to seemed to humble even him.

After an intense moment of staring the assassin promptly crumpled the parchment before stuffing it in his pocket. What made this mystery lizard such a mystery? ]

[Ashley seems to be quite taken with the library as well, and sulks through the halls, looking for something that will entertain her. Today, she just so happens to stroll up to the bookcase that Leon is on top of - and quietly begins to make her selection.]

[falcoff]

[You wanted to be entertained? Well, that was your first mistake. Because like raining like death from above comes a chameleon.]

[You wanted to do that to Ashley? That was your first mistake. She simply just...stares up at Leon, raising an eyebrow.]

[falcoff]

[Don't question the whims of the great Leon. He needs to hone his combat prowess.

Slinking up from the floor he pops his neck as he rolls his shoulders.]

...couldn't you do better than that? At least a little noise?

Throw a little effort my way, then maybe you can get a little noise.

[Awwwww snappppp.]

[That makes him crinkle his muzzle.]

Who says you're worth the effort?

[Her eyes dart to where Leon leaped down from, before moving back to the lizard.]

The fact that you went to all that effort in the first place speaks volumes.

Wow, you're calling me scum? I'm offended, I really am.

[Says this cool cat of a guy, who even places a hand on his chest for emphasis on his last statement - however, his casual tone of voice seems to suggest that he really isn't offended at all.

[He gives Leon an odd look. Weird people, he can get. There were plenty of weird people at home. But lizard people...?]

...Okay, before you say anything is it just me, or are you a walking, talking lizard? Or is that a costume? I'm thinking the latter.

[...he's weird? You're the weird one. Leon stares at what's obviously a robot with some kind of pink latex streched over its body. So gross and unsettling...

He puts his nightstand club between him and stranger.]

Idiot robot! This is no disguise. The Leon is nothing but genuine lizard!

[theothersissel]

A robot? Excuse me? I've seen robots, and believe me, I'm not one of them.

[He had a glimpse of such advanced technology when he went to go make a deal with another country. Their technology, to be honest, was....off.]

[He approaches, leaning over the nightstand to peer at Leon through his dark shades.]

I'm pretty sure lizards aren't as big as you. And they can't talk.

[falcoff]

Only a robot would say that.

[He squints as he hisses out each word. Your country is obviously a primitive sack of sick pink monkeys.

Leon bats at Sissel. He's warning you!]

Do your eyes not work?! I'm standing before you talking and a lizard!

[theothersissel]

Riiiiight. I'm a robot. Y'know, because it's not like I'm made of flesh and blood or anything.

[He rolls his eyes behind his shades.]

A lizard is like, uh... [He holds up his hand, spacing his index finger and his thumb a few inches from each other.] This big, usually? I mean, are you that big? No? Then you're not a lizard. At least, not like the ones I know from home.

What kind of place do you come from? Did lizards take over the world or something?

[falcoff]

Or a disgusting shaven monkey.

[Staaaare. Get a good earnest look from Leon's eyes because that's a string of nonsense you're speaking skin-robot-ape.]

Why do you speak such lies? I'm a lizard standing right before you and I'm me-sized! I exist!

I haven't taken over any systems yet, but my crew is working on it.

Hey, now, no need to call each other names. We're just talking. Man to...lizard.

[Gods, this is so weird. It really is. He honestly could keep going on about this "YOU CAN'T BE A LIZARD" thing but, eh, he doesn't feel like it. Part of him is still going to think it's just some elaborate costume.]

Your crew, huh? What, is it made up of other lizards like you?

What's a man? Some kind of ape-machine?

[Don't get existential, Leon. He scoffs at that question.]

Don't be stupid! We're not called Star Wolf just because of my great genius alone! There's the foolish Panther Caruso and then the ruthless, brave Wolf O'Donell!

[Cynthia wanders on into the library, completely unsuspecting any sort of trouble. She's got her nose in a book while she's walking, which means she's probably five seconds away from tripping anyway, so... WHO KNOWS.

FIVE...

FOUR...

THREE...]

[TWO...ONE...

And zoom, down comes one lizard from the skies like a straight missile towards the bookworm. Serves the literate right.]

WAUGH!

[AND DOWN SHE GOES, TACKLED BY A FURRY

...SCALY...???

WHATEVER THE POINT IS SHE'S DOWN AND WHY]

Unhand me, villain!

[falcoff]

[First get your animals right you MONKEY.

Second Leon gloats over his quarry, hands on his hips and grinning.]

Not a chance! You're a hostage of the great Leon!

Not for long, I'm not!

[...will she fatally injure this chameleon if she punches him in the face, she's never even seen a chameleon before

OH WELL NOT LIKE SHE'S ACTUALLY THINKING WHEN SHE DOES IT]

Pegasus Power Punch!

[falcoff]

[THINKING OR NOT, Leon gets a face full of Pegasus Power, sending him violently flying back against the bookcase with a hard thud.

He slides across the floor with a huge welt on his face.]

Ugh...you think you won...but it's far from over.

YOU KNOW WHAT, CYNTHIA WILL STAND UP AND POSE HEROICALLY BECAUSE YEAAAAH]

Keep it up, and you'll have the same stuff happen every time! Heroes will always triumph over evil!
